Amy Carmichael was an amazing missionary to India. She literally bought back children destined for slave trade at a time in the world when many women in England were "sitting on a cushion and sewing a fine seam"! Her courage was amazing. She founded the orphanage for these children and served them for years. The last 18 years of her life she was in bed with a disease. Her workers commented that they never realized the extent of her prayers until she had gone to heaven and and they missed her praying for them. May I encourage all to read her biography and especially her poetry.
"Except a grain of wheat fall to the ground and dies it remains by itself alone but if it dies it brings forth much fruit."
