"Lord, I crawled across the barrenness to You with my empty cup uncertain in asking any small drop of refreshment. If only I had known you better I would have come running with a bucket." Amy Carmichael
Amy Carmichael was an amazing missionary to India. She literally bought back children destined for slave trade at a time in the world when many women in England were "sitting on a cushion and sewing a fine seam"! Her courage was amazing. She founded the orphanage for these children and served them for years. The last 18 years of her life she was in bed with a disease. Her workers commented that they never realized the extent of her prayers until she had gone to heaven and and they missed her praying for them. May I encourage all to read her biography and especially her poetry.
"Except a grain of wheat fall to the ground and dies it remains by itself alone but if it dies it brings forth much fruit."

The Lord Jesus Christ - The Risen King
So sorry that I am now able to give the title or the writer of this praise poem but not knowing him/her does not deminish the truths of the song. May it bless you as you contemplate that Jesus is risen! Consider the myriad blessings that are ours because He rose and is alive today.
Come, people of the Risen King, {Is He your Risen King?}
Who delight to bring Him praise; {Are you delighted to praise Him?}
Come all and tune your hearts to sing {How is your heart? Is it singing}
To the Morning Star of grace. {Do you know the grace greater than sin?}
From the shifting shadows of the earth {Where is your focus?}
We will lift our eyes to Him, {Will you fix your eyes on Jesus}
Where steady arms of mercy reach {Do you feel the Arms filled with mercy?}
To gather children in.
Father in heaven, gather in the children those near and those far. Jesus took the little ones on His knee and blessed them. May this picture encourage us to believe that You are the true blessing and will bless our children for the sake of Your Name and kingdom.

THE PRESENCE
In the secret of His presence how my soul delights to hide.
How precious are the lessons that I learned at Jesus' side.
Earthly cares can never test me neither trials lay me low,
For when Satan comes to vex me to the secret place I go.
You may always be abiding if you will at Jesus' side.
In the secret of His presence you may every moment hide.
I would give credit where credit is due but know not the author of this short poem but do know the truth of the absolute joy and blessing of remembering always that when Jesus was born His Name was called Emanuel which means God with us. The Psalmist says "Where can I go from Your presence?" and then proceeds to proclaim that there is nowhere where God is not present. (Psalm 139) "The nearness of God is our good". In Exodus 33 it is written that when Moses went into the tent of meetings to meet with God that as he came out his face was so glowing that he had to wear a veil to keep from alarming the people. Oh, God, may it be for Your people today on Your day that the faces that have been with YOU will shine. May others see Jesus in the face of His own people. Make a distinction, Lord God, and may we give You the glory. "Those who look to Him are radiant. Their faces are never covered with shame." (Psalm 34)

God Is Faithful
When God promised Noah that he would never cover the whole earth with a flood He encouraged him by giving the sign of the rainbow. Whenever I see a rainbow I am reminded again that God always keeps His promises. This site is a similar reminder with lots of rainbows. If your name is Mary you are in for a special gift at the end! Today is Sunday where I am. It is His day. Enjoy Him!

Do not be afraid. I am your shield . . . Genesis 15:1
This morning I discovered in this hymn some verses that were previously unknown to me. What an encouragement!
It Is Well With My Soul
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;Whatever my lot,
Thou has taught me to say,It is well, it is well, with my soul.
RefrainIt is well, with my soul,It is well, with my soul,
RefrainIt is well, with my soul,It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.
But, Lord, ‘tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.
